MH,

There was some Asian issue involved but I am not sure they are consequence of the economic turmoil. I know China was a big buyer of Boeing planes a couple of years ago. There are a lot of regional airlines that comes out that are sponsored by regional government. Because of that, there is a surge of demand which I am sure lift the airplane market. Later on, because of misplanning, overexpansion and competition, business soured and only a few major ones survived. Problem is, average Chinese can't afford to take airplane on casual trip.

The reason I am saying it may not related to the economic problem is: even if the economic environment is good, I don't see the airline industry there pick up by much. Airline industry there is more of a luxury rather than a big component of transportation.
