K-Tel International and Microsoft Sign Agreement to Include "K-Tel Express" on Microsoft Network's Shopping Channel, MSN Shopping

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1998--K-tel International Inc. (Nasdaq:KTEL - news) has
signed an agreement with Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) to include ''K-tel Express'' (www.ktel.com),
K-tel's online music and home video service, on The Microsoft Network's Shopping Channel, MSN Shopping
(http://shopping.msn.com).

The announcement was made Tuesday by Larry Kieves, president of K-tel International.

Under terms of the agreement, The Microsoft Network (MSN) will feature direct links to ''K-tel Express''
within the Music and Home Videos department page on its hightly visible Shopping Channel. The arrangement
also allows MSN to include links to ''K-tel Express'' within additional sites Microsoft owns, controls or
operates, including Microsoft Plaza, MSNBC, Computing Central, Sidewalk and microsoft.com.

''K-tel Express'' will also include a direct link to the MSN Shopping Channel. Thousands of banner
impressions advertising ''K-tel Express'' and its products will be distributed by MSN across the Network
each month.

''Microsoft's extensive online outreach to the consumer is in a leauge of its own and will further enhance the
'K-tel Express' brand name across the Internet. We very much look forward to working with them in creating
exciting and value added promotional opportunities for the consumer, as well as Microsoft users,'' stated
Kieves.

''K-tel Express,'' which features 250,000 music and 35,000 home video titles, was launched on May 1. The
service will soon offer a feature enabling visitors to create custom CD compilations, making selections from a
wide variety of songs in a user-friendly manner to produce a personalized compilation with customized artwork
for almost any occasion. Moreover, ''K-tel Express'' recently announced plans to provide digital downloads
from K-tel's extensive owned music master catalog. ''K-tel Express'' competes with online music retailers such
as CDNow, N2K and Amazon.com
