Haircuts, appraisals, and NYRR - how are they linked? I was getting my hair cut last night from a lady who cuts hair as a second job. During the day she is an appraiser for the State. She happened to mention that they were soon going to be hiring a new appraiser due to the massive amount of money from Congress' Transportation Bill, of which the money would soon be available. That got me to thinking - won't NYRR also be the receipient of some of this soon-to-be released money for infrastucture upgrades. There was a press release a year or so ago noting that the NJ legislature was going to give (via a grant) NYRR 5-6 million for upgrading its operation. Now that is like recieving 20 million in gross income, because that is what 5-6 million net would translate into. Does anyone back in the NY-NJ area have any info on this grant? And can anyone post it - it is no longer listed under Yahoo! press releases.
