I dont diagree at all. I think Micro Focus botched this badly...and my sense is that Gary is a competent executive and Im glad they brought him in... BUT...Why on earth did they accelerate the conference call before Gary ever had a chance to get up-to-speed on the Micro Focus problems... it was embarassing. I like Gary, but there is no way around the fact that this was an IR screw up. Analysts wanted answers and Gary basically said I just came on board...i dont know the answers...but im a good guy and I wont tell you things I dont know or lead you on This was not remotely helpful as the immediate stock reaction showed. At least he was able to express the view that they would be profitable this qtr. Small favor... They should never have accelerated the call...they should have waited until Gary was up to speed (which he could have been given the original time frame for the IR call).
