MySoftware Partners With Internet PioneerVisto to Provide Innovative Web Services to Businesses December 3, 1998 07:01 AM PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 1998--
Briefcase(TM) Service Provides "Office Away from Your Office" Through the Web
MySoftware Company, Inc. MYSW , the worldwide leader in productivity software and Internet solutions for the small business market, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Visto Corporation, the pioneer in providing Internet users with secure universal access to their personal information.
As part of the new relationship, MySoftware will initially distribute a co-branded version of the Visto Briefcase(TM) service through MySoftware's GrowMyBusiness.com Web site.
"By partnering with Visto, we can help small businesses use the Internet in new ways to be more productive and more effective," said Robin Goldberg, vice president of Marketing at MySoftware Company. "The Briefcase now enables small businesses to manage their email, schedules and files, making the information accessible from any Web browser. We're excited to add the Briefcase to our suite of Internet Services designed to help small businesses be more successful."
The Briefcase service brings together all of an individual's information -- e-mail, calendar, files, address book and bookmarks -- in a secure, private place on the Web. The information can be automatically imported from the user's computer to the Briefcase account, synchronizing any changes to the content back to one or more computers.
And with the click of a button, Briefcase users can share their schedules and selected files to business associates, friends, family and organizations.
With the Briefcase, small businesses are equipped to stay productive at all times. Because the service leverages the Internet, it provides the benefits of more expensive remote access solutions at a fraction of the cost and without the technical hassles.
For example, users have the flexibility to work at home and access all their latest files and e-mail, even behind a firewall. While traveling on business, users can read and respond to e-mail, update schedules and check phone numbers and appointments from any PC.
"The Visto Briefcase helps businesses -- small or large -- change the working dynamics of mobile professionals. Now, without technical support, it's easy to securely access important materials from any web connection," said Doug Brackbill, president and CEO of Visto. "We're very pleased that MySoftware is helping extend our reach in the small business market."
Visto Corporation, of Mountain View, Calif., was founded in 1996 and is the pioneer in providing Internet users with secure universal access to their e-mail, calendar, files and more.
The company is privately held and funded by Bessemer Venture Partners, the founding investor, NEA, Trinity Ventures, Vector Capital, CMG @Ventures CMGI and Labrador Ventures. The company's address on the Web is visto.com.
