vepoc: I'm sorry I couldn't be here for you when you needed me, but I'm here now - DING! DING! DING! DING! DING!
This breakout was beautiful - volume increased by 94%! Anything over 50% is very good. I see three catalysts for this move. In order of importance: 1) PC sales are going VERY well (I agree with "She" that this is the biggest factor), 2) Michael Dell didn't sound as confident as usual at the conference, and 3) Alta Vista rumours. Now, normally a big volume breakout from a good base is good for at least 20%. My only reservation is that I wish our base had been a little longer - it was barely 4 weeks and 4 to 6 weeks is usually the minimum necessary to "guaranty" that we keep going. The longer the base, the greater the chase. Also, the longer the base, the better the support for downside moves. That said, I'm 95% confident that we will be OK.
My prediction is that we will move right up to just under the all time high where we will park (not for long) until the news is out that CPQ is going to beat expectations. Then you'd better fasten your seatbelt!
I do not think a close below 35 is in CPQ's future, so you can certainly buy anywhere under 35. But I would buy on any weakness today. If you buy and it dips below your buy price, don't worry.
