Data Race Demonstrates Revolutionary Be There! Client Software at CTI Expo Related Items

December 2, 1998 -- DATA RACE
announced that they will be demonstrating
their latest innovation in remote access
technology today at CTI Expo Fall '98. The
new Be There! software client is the first
product debut in the recently announced
FlexPlace initiative. FlexPlace is a
breakthrough in remote access technology,
that will provide the ability to work
anywhere, anytime, over any medium, such
as xDSL, cable modem, ISDN, and
conventional analog phone lines -- just as
productively as if in the corporate office.
The new client software will require no
hardware installation, running on PCs
which have V.80 compliant modems and
compatible sound systems. The product is
scheduled to enter beta testing in early
1999.

With Be There!, DATA RACE has raised
the bar for remote access solutions. Be
There! gives telecommuters and business
travelers the ability to simultaneously make
and receive office calls, fax, e-mail, and
access the Internet -- all from anywhere
there's an analog phone line. Be There! also
automatically forwards phone calls from the
worker's office extension to the remote
location. This Telepresence™ not only
gives the employee access to corporate
resources, but also gives callers the
impression that the telecommuter is in the
office.

A key benefit of the new Be There! client is
that now companies using Be There! can
allow their users to download and install
the client software -- quickly and
conveniently. With no client hardware to
install, new users can be connected to the
office in minutes. "With a software
upgrade, existing Be There! servers can
also support connections from users of this
new software client,'' explained Kenneth
Witt, Director of Marketing for the Be
There! product. "This announcement
makes Be There! the right solution for
virtually every remote worker -- from the
traveling executive to the occasional or
weekend telecommuter.''

George Bennett, Sr., VP of Sales and
Marketing at DATA RACE stressed that
this is only the first product announcement
for the next generation Be There! "This
new remote user software will allow
companies to deploy Be There! across a
broader range of remote workers.
Eliminating the need for hardware
installation means that there is less effort
and expense and less on-going technical
support in rolling out Be There! as the
corporate remote access solution.''
