Comparable store sales for the four-week period increased 1.4%.

John X. Watson, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, ''We are pleased with the progress of our results in November. Favorable weather and a strong Thanksgiving weekend traffic played a significant role in improving sales in the latter half of the month, particularly in North America. Additionally, our international business performed well, with both Australia and Europe demonstrating positive results during the month.''
Watson continued, ''Watch Station, on the other hand, experienced weak performance. Saying that, we are well positioned for the holiday with a good in-stock position and with the recent mailing of over one million Watch Station catalogs, we look for this business to improve in December.'' |
