Reel.com Opens a Virtual Video Store Front On America Online
Reel.com Plans Exclusive Offers for AOL Members

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 1998--Reel.com Inc.,
(http://www.reel.com), the leading online movie store and subsidiary of
Hollywood Entertainment, Corp. (Nasdaq:HLYW - news), dba Hollywood Video,
today announced a partnership with America Online (NYSE:AOL - news).

According to the partnership, Reel.com will be a tenant in America Online's
Electronics and Videos department located within the Shopping area. This
virtual tenancy includes a continuing presence on AOL.com, the AOL online
service, as well as the Compuserve online service. Reel.com also announced
that AOL customers will be offered exclusive promotions on a regular basis.

''Millions of shoppers stroll through AOL's virtual shopping mall each and

in this high traffic location. Likewise, AOL members will benefit as

communicate exclusive special promotions to members. For example, this week

Life' for only $2.99.''

Visitors to the AOL shopping malls will be able to effortlessly jump to
Reel.com's online video store from links in each area. In addition,
Reel.com will be marketed to AOL and Compuserve users through rotating
banner ads, regular promotions, as well as be accessible by typing in the
keyword Reel.

AOL shoppers who enter through the electronic doors of Reel.com's online
video store are just a click away from 100,000 VHS movie titles and 2,300
DVDs, and the guaranteed best prices on the Internet. Reel.com also offers
its visitors a wealth of movie information, such as complete director,
