>>How the hell does Copper get so far ahead of WSTL???<<

Ski,
That's a "REAL" good question and very much so considering Copper was only founded as a company in January 1996. It was my understanding that DMT solutions were extremely difficult to come by even if you had VERY qualified people working for you with a lot of experience in that field. Here this company comes along and in only 3 years not only has xDSL solutions but solutions that are making BIG news. I'm wondering if they didn't recruit some of Amati's expertise when TI bought them. Also thinking back didn't someone say WSTL was loosing very valuable people. Could they have gone to Copper?
As bad as Steve Case wants and needs high speed solutions is it far fetched to think that he could snap this company up while it's still private? After all UUnet & MCI Worldcom is using Copper Mnt. AND in that same press release it mentioned AOL was in trials. If not AOL how about ALA or anyone else that sees Copper as delevering what is needed and possibly "instead of westell".

Just thinking out loud <g>............
I think I'm gonna do a little research on Copper Mnt. <g>
