fred,
You have to give creaf a chance. Just like there is an art to investing there must be an art to buying shares back. They are new to the game and are most likely taking a conservative approach. While this might not be great short term it is the long-term perspective they see. I don't believe in the "prove to the street" hype. Creaf must do what is right for creative not the street and hope the street comes to them. Ask yourself how did creaf get the cash to buy the shares back in the first place. It is because they are financially responsible!
You see yourself what happens when creaf does not buy. We know this is a rare opportunity for creative to buy many shares in a short period of time. What would be accomplished other than the reduction of shares and the hope that "the street" is happy with them. This is risky! A time will come very soon where creaf will not be able to buy shares as leisurely as now. I think creative would want the stock to support itself and to add buying power as a protection in volatile times. Not wanting to be the source of daily volume. If creative drove the price up during the month higher than the perceived market value, the stock would likely fall back down. Creative would waste money and would create even a higher disrespect with us shareholders, as they would be perceived to by not supporting the price as promised.
Creative imo wants the stock to price itself, maybe the qtr is a blowout, why would creative buy shares if they think the stock will go up? Creative gets the same results without the cash depletion, and thus has more cash for defense and growth opportunities.

The bottom line is a higher stock price, and if they can achieve this with minimum cash depletion ...fine!
