1. Goldman and Merrill are 90 % invested in all sectors. But they are overly invested in the transports lets say to the tune of $100 million. They both have been hurt by the Hedge Fund fiasco and they are not liquid enough to take advantage of the Tech Sector move. They can take their DELL inventory and SADDLE ( trade back and forth ) and hold the stock down until they are in a position to do so.

2. the transports move up and they make $40 million. Now they are in a position to take advantage of holding Dell back and then let it appreciate unless there is more money to be made with their investment by continuing to Saddle it.
