Mr. Fun...

Interesting data. What are your sources? I don't think CSCO has ever broken down their sales mix....even so, I can tell you with certainty that there is something wrong with those numbers since sales of ATM switches were well over $1B last year....unless of course the entire "other" column was the switches...then of course one has to wonder where the UBR (cable head-ends) and DSLAM's are...not to mention the 3800 ATM multiservice access product line, etc.. etc..

Also, you appear supportive of BR and appear willing to prepetuate the point of view the CSCO misleads..but once again I've seen not facts that bear this out. Remember, many of CSCO's products can be used in a variety of applications. I'm sure it is difficult to figure out how each product is used...the analysts however do know the total revenue picture and should ask the right questions of those reporting so that double counting can be eliminated. Believe, this goes on at every company...why I remember back when CSCC reported their frame relay products as ATM switches... but then, that was a long time ago. Point is, these things happen and it's up to analysts to make sure their data is right. Of course CSCO product managers want their products to have leadership positions...

Anyway, I can tell you from first hand experience that these studies are very flawed. Information is shared between analysts and product managers and numbers are spun...

Well.... I think this horse has been beaten enuf... Let's return to the regularly scheduled ASND discussion...and geez...the afternoon sell-off. What happened there?
