Mark,

If you bid 50 3/16 with ISLD displaying 1k shares on the offer at 3/16, you will get filled at 3/16 providing no one beats you to the shares. You do not automatically get a cross/lock by bidding the ask with ISLD. It is legal to bid the ask. The reason you get cross/lock kills is that you wait to watch the stock start to move before you enter your buy and someone else cleans out the ISLD shares at the ask before your order hits.

Two suggestions: Bid above the ask as I mentioned in earlier posts, and/or, make your move a little faster during the action. Remember: it's a game of fast draw and you are drawing against a lot of experienced daytraders with very itchy trigger fingers.

It will come to you with experience.

Rick
