To all... My latest horror story.

I've been through the week from hell with an NT system which corrupted data on the disk. At first, I assumed a bad drive, so I purchased a new one and attempted to load NT onto the empty drive. No luck. It kept failing after about 90% loaded. It would report that it could not copy a file. I swapped CDROM readers. No luck.

The problem turned out to be new memory I put in about 3 weeks earlier. I purchased 128M via the web and have been running with it OK (I thought). Post reported no errors. NT failed to load consistently until the memory was removed.

Lesson: ONLY buy QUALITY MEMORY FROM KNOWN SOURCES!
