Ram,

I think you have a good point.
To make money in China is NOT easy.

However, since the company has strong Chinese connection, (many employees
are from China or Taiwan), they seem to know the China market trend fairly
well. And they seem to be able to make connections with the Chinese government
which plays a major role in a lot of things unless here in the states. And this seems
to give company C a lot of headaches.

Another point to bear in mind is: China is hungry for low cost consumer products such
as VCD and SuperVCD. And Chinese people buy TVs, VCDs, and SuperVCDs. This market will going on
for many years. Fred Chan used to sell low cost toy audio chips. He is very good
at selling volume for profits. Therefore I tend to believe that C-Cube eventually will
withdraw from the Chinese market. C-Cube will focus on DiviCom business only eventually.
The end game will be that ESS fights with local Chinese DVD IC suppliers
for the market share and share the huge profits..

Finally, even Craig Barrett of Intel knows that in China, there are six adults (parents, grandparents
on both sides) look at one child and they are willing to buy the best computers for the kid
to keep abreast with the leading countries/families, etc...

Therefore there are still opportunities in China to make money, in both consumer and PC markets.
Guess what? ESST is positioned for consumer and PC markets...

Rishi
