Kerm,

Thanks very much for the very comprehensive report on Carmanah. You ought
to start charging for access to your archives. I had expected to find something
that was "all flash" -- despite the troubles Bre-X is having, Indonesia is VERY
trendy, and I expected Carmanah to be on the bandwagon. Perhaps not. I
will indeed request a package for you.

As for Amber, I sold the position this week. Not because I particularly had
changed my view of the company, but more for political reasons. It was the
first-ever small-cap purchase, and with a Board meeting coming up next
week, it was expedient to show them a small-cap success. We bought last
April at $22; following a 2:1 split we sold this week at $23. Not a bad success,
and maybe a lesson for me when I turn my nose up at companies that have
had a good run (like Berkley). I think the 52 week low when I bought Amber
was about $4, and it still worked out fine.

Thanks again for your help, Kerm. Much appreciated.
