Ptask, as I understand it there are different mobile ions that correlate with different mineable metals. I understand that mobile ion barium correlates well with gold and other mobile ion elements with other mineable metals. There is a lot of complex technology here that requires people skilled in the technology to appreciate. I'm not that knowledgeable of the specifics. I'm certain that CEO Dale Runyon would be happy to discuss this activity with you, give him a call. There were nice presentations of this technology at the AGM this spring. If you're interested you may want to contact the company and see if they would lend you a tape of that meeting. If they don't have any more copies, ask this again on this thread because there were a few loaners floating around.

PS, Maxam's current focus is just the gold and silver. There is evidence that there may be very large amounts of iridium, so much that it would change world iridium pricing. The company is reluctant to address PGM mining until the gold and silver issues are resolved.
