isoman: Re: cup holder
I originally got the 6X model with my machine. I think the number has something to do with how many ounces of coffee it is designed to hold. Mine's still working fine. Yours broke because it only held 4 ounces. If you hadn't used that oversized cup, yours would still be just hunkey-dorey.
So, don't blame it on Sony.
I do find it odd, though, that the customer service guy didn't know what you were talking about. I called them soon after I figured out how to get the holder to come out of its little hiding place. I put my coffee cup in the receptacle, but it covered up the little button I pushed to get it to come out. So, I couldn't get it to go back in to its hiding place. I called Sony, and after I explained my problem to the customer service guy, I heard him talking to some of the other folks there. He said "I've got another live one on the line!"
Well, of course I'm alive. How else could I have called him? Sheesh ... Anyway, after they told a few jokes (I know they did that because I heard them laughing in the background) the guy got back on the line and told me that I had to remove the cup before the little holder would go back into its hiding place.
Well, shoot. How come they didn't put a warning label on the front of the darned thing? We can't read minds, you know.
Golly. They only sell 20X models now? Geez. That's one HUGE cup!
