My 2 week experience @home cable has been both a treat and a frustration. The downloading of videos, web pages, software, quicken portfolio updates has been great and has also made me realize the future need for huge amounts of storage capacity. We are all going to go crazy with this stuff.

And it's definitely different from TV. This is much more of a proactive experience. One I had heard about but you don't understand until you've done it.

On the other hand, as I've recently mentioned, the day to day stuff like SI is starting to drive me crazy. It's gotten to a point where I'm afraid to hit the 'NEXT' key for fear of a 2 or 3 minute delay before it comes up.

I don't understand the technology behind it but I've been told about a bottleneck happening in some private network or possibly LAN that the Cable company puts between me and the internet. Whatever it is I hope they plan to fix it soon.

My cable company offered a special trial deal where I got the board & software installed for a third of the regular price; I also get the modem for free for 6 months and no contract to sign. So I HAD to try it.

If you are not as lucky with your cable deal I would suggest waiting and trying someone elses set up first or talk to someone who has had it for a month or so. My two weeks isn't enough.

BBBBBUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTT, THE FUTURE LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!
