I agree that Internet distribution can help in overseas markets,
but the internet has much more powerful ramifications for the TLC business model beyond overseas distribution.

In addition to lowering costs of distribution to domestic customers, the Internet can change the nature of the relationship with its customers. Instead of a transaction orientation, TLC can create new business models that support ongoing relationships with its customers.

For instance, their highest traffic websites are in the family tree area and TLC has much more "continuous" interaction. There are many reasons the Company places such a high internal value on its customer database.

TLC's increased franchise control and market dominance will translate into very significant opportunities for the company in the upcoming year.

The business model will become more profitable and the customer relationship will become more continuous. The Internet is a new distribution mechanism, and with a new model for distribution those that control the content will be kings.

TLC has become the gorilla in interactive education, reference and productivity. This makes the company a VERY desirable potential partner.

Currently the company is inexpensively valued based on the past. Perhaps the valuation parameters will change once we begin to see the evidence of the future opportunities.
