Benefits Of Technology... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good post Lee... The Invisible Hand of Adam Smith is alive and well... You put it best when you used the word equilibrium... Shortfalls in one area create openings in another area... Another example of productivity improvement is the industrial revolution... People moved from the farms to the cities where the jobs were... In the cities automation took over many of the manual tasks... Instead of reducing jobs it created new opportunities in the Auto industry, Armaments, and other Consumer products... As production started moving offshore a new opportunity in the service sector (Computers and related) opened up... This has a tremendous appetite for skilled employees... An offshoot of this is the internet... The satellites, that we are continually deploying, are at the forefront of a growing space related industry... And the beat goes on as long as someone has an idea and acts upon it... Jim
