The Caly Urine HIV-1 test is a test that utilizes Western Blotting. As such, the test is inherently limited. It only tests for HIV-1. As I understand it, this test is extremely accurate, but expensive and requires laboratory developement (not rapid, takes days). Thus, enter the agreement with Triby.

The Caly agreement with Triby is still active. Research is ongoing.

I see the possibility of a UniGold Urine HIV test. Indirect development ongoing.

I am more inclined to believe that an EIA test (ELISA plate test) for urine will be developed. I would suspect that Triby would market the test for both HIV-1 and HIV-2. Trinity would then have testing avail for blood, serum, saliva, and urine.

Further, a test may be possible that utilizes the "dip" method popularized by the OTC Triby pregnancy test. Sensitivity is good but Specificity needs to be tweeked up prior to release.

Ah, yes, and then this: critpath.org

Thank God for dem Keebler Elves!
