Thanks for the excellent sites, Glenn. Larger point is interesting to me...that AXC solutions are ideal, as you imply, for various governmental goals, the government can certainly afford AXC solutions, And ( whispering ) there is a " too important to allow the company to go under " factor possibly ( VERY possibly) at work here. Can't see them turning to Sony to meet mammoth storage needs. Thus I am making the leap that there is a little hidden multiyear downside protection here.....and we need that with a stock price under 1. Al Cassaro has spoken persuasively about the value of being hooked up to the federal revenue stream - and when so many critical goals are involved that are best served by AXC tech that value is heightened.
I do not know that AXC has not used KM in quad, but I do know they did not use it in double. I certainly do not rule out its future use.
Last I checked the nearest competitor for capacity per tape was 56g.
Of course the quad will be 660. So however it is achieved, licensing to address a large market vs. attempts to expand a small market becomes a viable debate ...if it could be licensed. Even if it could, I am sure that is not a simple decision.
Jubimer, mighty glad you are attending conference. Too much happening here right now for me to make it to the Marriot. Look forward to any and all reports.
