ISPs (Internet Service Providers) such as EarthLink Network, Inc. (Nasdaq: ELNK - news), Mindspring Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: MSPG - news) and America Online, Inc. (NYSE: AOL - news) simply do not have sufficient bandwidth over telephone lines for new broadband products.

Hmm...would someone tap Timothy Karnes on the shoulder and tell him that AOL doesn't own the bandwith or pipes their service runs through. Maybe Tim isn't familiar with WorldCom or UUNET...but I'm guessing he is since he is the President of Internet Cable Corp. I guess those press release months ago didn't make it to his desk.

Another funny thing is that I can get DSL service in my area, but nada on the cable. Bi-directional when? Tim can tout cable till he's blue in the face, but the bottom line is he's got a long way to go before taking over the old RBOC connections.
