Judy, I forgot to answer about ADPT. Of course, they were a high flyer that collapsed when the sub 1K PC got so popular and the demand for their SCSI products fell. Now, I understand, they are trying to decide what Adaptec should "be" for the next while. What products should they push, etc. They have two top execs back, at least part time, a founder and also a CEO that I know a little from his previous job here. The CEO is a really good one, John Adler. They sold off a company called Ridge. That's what I know! I'm neutral, I guess you'd say. SCSI has been a great I/O technology for PCs and workstations, but I don't know if fibre channel or other new protocols like USB will start to dominate.
My recommendation? Buy Intel. It may not double as soon as some beaten down, out of favor ones will (are there any left?), but they will double, and they are extremely low risk.
Oh well, my opinion and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee, right?
