I guess I'm a contrarian. A month ago I upgraded from a Pentium 133 notebook computer to the 300 Pentium II. I am very pleased with the change.

Maybe I am a geek. I use my computer for speech recognition and art work. Both of these applications are like night and day running on the more powerful system. Naturally, I also spend a lot of time on the Internet. One could argue the faster machine offers little advantage for browsing, but again I find more memory and power allows me freedom to run six browsers, dictation and any other project I might be playing with at the same time.

The new laptop also has a 15 in. screen which is very nice. Also, my hard drive is five times bigger and the graphics are better.

Do I need it? I think so.

Regards,

Mark

PS Once you start using voice dictation it gets hard to type. It is undoubtedly a great new application.

Surprisingly enough, this is not Off Topic. I'm using Dragon Systems NaturallySpeaking which is majority owned by Seagate.
