This lawsuit will bring some short term pain for the long term types. Higher volatility and higher volume too. All in all, this suit was probably a good thing since it validates and highlights the importance of GMSTF's patent suite to all interactive TV navigators.
I guess it was naive of us to assume that GMSTF could hoard such a patent suite without being challenged by potential licenses. Nows Yuen 's opportunity to "bare his fangs" and show how well he can enforce and protect what's his.
From what I have seen so far, he's no spring chicken when it comes to litigation and counter suits. SFA is probably an easier one to handle given that its reneging on the results of a lost arbitration.
