Wrong again Lucky Star. Progress database is a "SQL Relational"
database - it stores data in "rows" and "columns" and data is
accessed "relationally" instead of accessing by "physical" address.
A SQL language is used to access the data. This would be the
definition of a SQL database- just like ORCL,SYB,INFX,DB2 and
Microsoft SQL server. However, as with all Database vendors, the
internal architecture used to develope the product is specific
to the vendor.
You may be right that MSFT is not interested in PRGS but I'm
betting someone is. Revenues have declined due to poor execution
in marketing and sales and not because it's a "dead" product.
