I may be wrong, but I thought the wider the spread meant they would prefer you not to sell as they are overloaded..Who would want to buy something and if necessary have to sell it at a 50% discount?. I have actually seen cross overs where the bid has moved past the ask, and the MM need your shares and are trying to entice people to sell as they have order to fill and not too many sellers????

Help me out here????
