Not only is short selling American but it provides liquidity that would otherwise be non-existant,..when UFEM filed bankruptcy the short interest kept the stock above 2 and 3 dollars for several weeks..allowing those idiots who didnt sell before, although there were plenty of warning signs, an oppurtunity to get out, and recoup something instead of nothing,,you can still get 10 bucks for TCTV, 5 bucks for GLCCF..these are all stocks that if there were no short interest , they would trade at pennies..your argument is not only insane but is self-defeating..We are the hand that pulls you out of the abyss and offers you a cup of soup and a warm meal before you aimlessly wander right back in... We are the only buyers when a company warns about earnings, files for BK, gets raided by the FBI, loses a major contract, gets sued or just closes the doors...We are the only liquidity you have when the Sh*t hits the fan......so be nice..we may pay you an extra 1/16 when you need it most...
