Sharon, Thin Doc, LT, and thread:
The definitive answer about baby boomers and the market? According to Harry S. Dent, Jr. there is a correlation between the S&P500 and the number of 46 year olds in the population. Check out the graph by clicking the Harry Dent link at: 1800mutuals.com
I don't know what I think about that, there are also good correlations between the market and election years, super bowl champions, etc. (Did you notice that his S&P 500 index was adjusted for inflation?) But if he's right, we're gonna have to listen to LT officiously pontificate about the BK for 10 more years ;( Only a wee little correction is "allowed" between now and then <G>.
Did you also notice that AFTER the big LT we end up about where we are now (adjusted for inflation of course)? I think Mr. Dent would say it's just a wee bit early to be loading up on those put leaps. Guess we'll all just have to wait and wait and wait and see.
FWIW...Alski

PS. That "officiously pontificate" was completely tounge-in-cheek. It's a bit harsh, but I've been trying to find a way to use "officious" since I stumbled into it in the on-line dictionary-thesaurus at lightlink.com
No offence intended, LT. For those that are curious but don't want to look it up: officious - overly aggressive and forward in offering unwanted service or advice to others. Pontificate - to speak or behave with exaggerated authority.
