People still snicker at the Gartner Group's $600B estimate for Y2K. I, for one, am still mumbling to any one who will listen: "where the Y2K money at?" It's certainly not flowing to publicly traded Y2K vendors!

So I convince myself Y2K will "only" cost $100B, which, again I convince myself, is still a lot of money. Same with $10B. Now, in the wake of 60 Minutes relatively low-key Y2K story, comes an article in Business Week saying the cost could hit $1 trillion!!! Say what?

=====

Y2K IS WORSE THAN ANYONE THOUGHT.
The final reckoning for squashing the bug could hit $1 trillion.
