Re: ALL, just a gentle reminder...Don't forget the potential of this situation next week:

If IOM were to buy the assets of Syquest they would have to discontinue
most of the product line, it doesn't fit well with IOM's products.
The success of Sparq IMO is attributable to the low retail prices, an assessment
of the failure rate has never been fully stated, further it's been speculated that failures
have been really high. I don't want Syquest's assets unless they're cheep and
they pay for themselves from disk sales ( with a small premium granted for patient
rights ). IMO it's not worth buying just to prevent someone else from acquiring.

Given that, if they can't buy these properties at a decent price then their role is to
make sure that whoever does ends up paying too much. Keep in mind that IOM
still has a patient suit pending with a restraining order against sales in France and
any other suitor would have to contend with those issues. The over 100 meg
market is a niche market primarily commercial in nature, Syquest's demise has
tainted SparQ with failure, business will pay more to assure that their mission
critical data is being supported by a proven success with support and parts.
Thanks to s.batch's numbers we have been kept up to date with what's happened to
Jaz since Syquest's demise.

On another note, don't want Rocky back, wouldn't mind another bear's opnion
and Rocky would have been ok but he just got too carried away. Would also
like to thank Lipo for all those fine pictures of COMDEX.
From my little corner of the world, IOM's products are selling better than ever
with about 75% of our boxes getting Zip inside.

Regards
Reseller
