>>Kemble & ALL, Dells cuts prices and sells pc below $1000, without monitor. Is this good or bad news? Reason given for price cuts is lower component prices and improved operating efficiencies...so, what's new?<<

I do not interpret cutting prices as a positive for the stock. To me this indicates trouble and that the company in an attempt to boost falling sales or to go after competition are reducing prices and this impacts their revenues. I have been very disappointed with the lagging performance of Dell for some time. In a bull market like this where so many tech stocks are reaching highs including Compaq Computer there is something strategically or fundamentally wrong when Dell can't get it together. Shareholders want their shares to appreciate. Everything else is just bullshit. Michael get the damn stock to start moving. It is your job to please your shareholders and this shareholder is getting a little impatient with the recent poor performance. I think many will too if the stock does not begin to perform well in the next few weeks.
