Thats when certain investors hype up a stock saying that theres going to be great news etc. The stock usually goes up higher and people start to buy only to have it drop again. The individuals doing the hyping already sold it when it went up. The unsuspecting investors, thats us, are left holding stock that has dropped considerably in value. Hope that helps
