To Dave:

So you disagree with "some" of Maurice's logic. Mqurice will speak for himself of course, but I am curious.

Are you suggesting that of the 26 handset cdmaOne licensees, that since one - the Phillips/Lucent joint venture has decided to concentrate on "parts" his point is invalid? How about the exception proves the rule concept? :-)

And on TDMA vs CDMA for analog (analogue) upgrades, all around the world the choice is shifting to CDMA - viz. Brazil. A temporary gain in volume for TDMA this past year in the US is much more easily explained by the AT&T "One Rate" plan than a prelude to the final victory of TDMA.

In sum,

the Q makes money - lots of it - from every CDMA handset and equipment sale licensed by the Q

worldwide, the shift toward CDMA is on

Have fun and good luck with your studies.

Chaz

Qualcomm and Nokia - together the world :-)
