There was an article last week in the Toronto Globe and Mail about children in French immersion classes who have reached Grade 7 without learning any more than the present tense of verbs. 6 years of language with no past or future tenses let alone thinking about subjunctive tenses.

Perhaps a thread should be started about the poor quality of public schools.
