Hi Antoine, I need to gather more data, and will respond to your question re: Lucent after I do. I was just logged on to S&P site, took a spin through Edgar, as well. Lucent had negative (-)0.18 earnings in 3rd q 1998, but for 1998 its overall earnings were a positive, if paltry, $0.73, so its P/E does NOT look like an eight sideways, and Yahoo is wrong. The negative quarter was due to purchase of Yurie, etc. Projected 1999 earnings are $2.05, projected 2000 earnings are $2.41.
I suspect that the run-up of Lucent, et al., has elements of both insanity and respect for the company.
I, personally, would not buy Lucent at the present level.
