Being a non residents does not relieve you of your responsibility of filing and paying your USA income taxes.

If you 401K was very minimal then you might be in a low tax bracket, but again, I don't see what being a resident or non-resident has to do with that.

If you "retire" after Jan 15th and have no income from then on, then again, makes little difference if you are a on-resident or not.
