Riechers: If all of the Rambus licensees are ramping up to produce DDR DRAMs (instead of RDRAMs), it might be that the RDRAM chipsets will be like engines in cars with no gas to run on.

I'm not arguing that this will be the case. Unfortunately, I can't tell the future. My only point is that this adventure might not work out in the way UncleWest envisions. We'll have to wait and see.
