Lynn - There does seem to be something going on with AV but I suspect it is not anything which will be announced near term. Normally talkative CPQ friends shy away from the AV topic. One commented cryptically 'if you know you know, if you don't know you don't know', I confirmed that I don't know... Another said something about blue and purple teams, whatever that means. I suspect there is really something going on, and that it has gotten to the stage where more people need to know about the plan, so there have probably been some leaks that started the rumors. The only solid answer I got was from a gent who said nothing big was planned before the end of the year. But maybe he "don't know". If there were a spinout it might be a share of the new company for each share of CPQ, that's the way another spinout I one held happened. But because of the difference in valuations it might be done as an IPO - I don't know how the benefit would then be passed through to current shareholders. Interesting questions. I have been in the camp which believes that AV will not be spun out but now I'm not so sure.
