Maybe most people *think* that they do everything they can to guard their privacy, but in fact every time you log onto any web page you're giving up tons of information about yourself without even realizing it. For that matter, every time you give over your credit card, you're handing out information about yourself to people you don't know. I don't disagree that people might be put off by the *perception* that Wave is getting private information about you through the meter -- and I believe that the company is going to have to do some PR work to manage that perception. But the truth is, you're giving all this information up already anyway. If you really wanted to keep yourself private, you'd have to stay off the Internet altogether. It's an important point, though, because it's bound to keep coming up.
