John,

I just read the entire UBID IPO discussion thread. It seems that Wit Brokerage requires (strongly suggests) a 60 day holding period. With this in mind and the good point you made about "I can understand where they are coming from. Perhaps they will get fewer IPO opportunities if their client base sells early, so by holding a hard line they enable all of us to have more opportunities", I guess 30 days ain't so bad.

Also the UBID IPO shares at Wit Brokers were distributed on a first come-first serve basis. Almost none of the posters got filled under Wit's IPO system. At least I like the way E*TRADE plans to distribute the CNQR IPO shares in rounds of 100 share lots to everyone whose price limit will accommodate it. That greatly increases the chance of being filled. Also, I notice that E*TRADE show the eBay IPO in its list of completed offerings to E*TRADE's customers. I don't know how I missed that one.

Good luck on your IPO trading,
4-Bob
