Here is some back ground info on our COB - Don Green

For some entrepreneurs, starting new ventures seems to be addictive. Even in his 70s, Gene Amdahl hasn't kicked the habit. Other senior repeaters include Don Green and Seymour Rubenstein. Once, entrepreneurs who founded two startups were rare. But here are more than 20 Bay Area inveterates with three or more startups under their belts, and no doubt more to come. Note: This is a longer, online-only version of the table that appears in the Aug. 18-25 issue of Business
Week.

Look at the company he has: From the Business Week article titled "Serial Entrepreneurs: Once Is Never Enough"

COB Green is a busy man....
Larscom Appoints Donald Green to Board of Directors
MILPITAS, CALIF. (Aug. 6) BUSINESS WIRE -Aug. 6, 1998--Larscom
Incorporated (NASDAQ:LARS) announced today the appointment of Donald Green (67) to the Larscom Board of Directors....

=====================================

After reviewing the list of Directors on our board; B.J. Cassin, Clifford Higgerson, Brian Jackman, Dan Rasdal and Alex Sozonoff...you will notice that two (1) Cassin and (2)Higgerson represent Venture Capital money.

It is my opinion COB Green is probably shopping the company around and the motivation for a sale is most likely comming from the VC companies.

A sale to a Lucent, GTE, BellSouth, Nortel or even an Alcatel would provide sufficient liquidity for the VC's to "cash-out". If you track some of B.J. Cassen's investments, you will see that a new venture
(http://www.herring.com/profiles/1197/tut.html) Tut Systems
(http://www.tutsys.com) is in a growth stage where they will require another round of financing.

Based on Green's track record, he is probably anxious to work on another start-up soon too. After a several month search to locate a new CEO candidate and after weeks of back and fourth discussions which may have resulted in a declined offer, I would imagine COB Green would be more motivated to sell the company now rather than before.

Just some more food for thought and speculation on my part....
