David,

You asked me how HAAPI was doing. So I started looking around the web to answer your question. I found this:

authentec.com

The FingerLoc Application Programming Interface is oriented toward simple access to high-level authentication functionality. Interaction with the FingerLoc fingerprint sensor is encapsulated and managed from within the FingerLoc services transparently to the application program. Due to the lack of accepted interface standards, and their current unstable and incomplete condition, the FingerLoc API supports subsets of both the HAAPI and BAPI draft biometric interface standards, that are sufficient to interface with the most popular application software available today. The FingerLoc API in some cases extends functions specified in the draft standards to support the real-time stream oriented processing that gives FingerLoc its exceptional performance.

Regards,
Bob
