Datastrip, provide security systems for encoding pictures, text or biometrics that can be used on plain, mag-stripe or chip cards. There is an obvious financial benefit in using plain cards for security.

Again, Steve Blackmore, Managing Director of Datastrip Limited confirmed that end users; appreciated the convenience of the NEC as an easy- access venue. He commented "In the niche market of biometrics the show delivered potential' business from airlines, banking and healthcare. For a first show, a promising start."

Cherry Electrical came to the show with a new keyboard to launch, this had built-in fingerprint recognition and promises to eliminate all the access problems associated with password security on computer systems. It is claimed that for many major financial institutions up to 50% of calls to internal help centres are password associated. Either the password has been lost, or often as not a typo goes unnoticed as the password is regularly changed.
