Spark, if you have Stockwatch, do a broker search on Taurus (House 69). You will find that Taurus bought almost 40,000 shares on Friday and sold a little less than that. It could have been an opportunity for them to short some stock, then pick up some more like you mention. If the analyst from Taurus was so down on the stock, why would they be involved in the trading at all? I believe the article had a different agenda than being informative. Most investors know that the internet stocks are an enigma, and don't represent any standard valuation. To beat up on Bid.com for not representing true fundamentals, and proclaim Ebay's fundamentals are representative of the stock price is simply stupid of Adam Adamou.
His gross margin calculation of 87% for Ebay is laughable. His analysis altogether is naive and foolish. The weight of that article is meant to panic the naive. All these stocks are having their day in the sun. They are all priced differently from other sectors based on the future, and to exclude one Canadian stock from that exuberance is inappropriate, valueless, and unprofessional. Had he written a balanced article for all internet stocks, I would be of a different opinion than to say Mr. Adamou is likely an idiot or smart enough to influence the market on Bid.com to his favour.
Nevertheless, I will watch the "madness" every day and look for opportunities to buy and sell.
