So the only ways to open to maintain shareholder wealth is to either dividend the excess cash or to repurchase stock. Chuzz - I believe it would be more correct to say - There are only two ways a company can pass its wealth on to its shareholders: 1. Paying Dividends are 2. Doing SOMETHING to boost the stock price.
