Carl, Many thanks for a thoughtful post on the subject of shorting. I have to agree with all you said and until this year have never held a short position in my life. I have also never paid this much in commissions in a single year either. I am going to spend the holidays trying to settle in to some longer term thinking but I have doubts about whether the market will allow that. Best, Stitch
